A Pirate's Treasure: Book II
Chapter
One

By Maryse Dawson

Juliette looked out at the busy harbour. Several large vessels were in port, men clambering about unloading and loading supplies. It was a hive of activity. Suddenly, she gasped, her hand clutching her chest.

“What? What is it, Juliette?”

Geraldine’s eyes followed Juliette’s, as she stared transfixed at a figure dressed completely in black standing amongst a crowd of men at the quayside. He was a head taller than most of the others and cut an imposing figure, especially as his features were concealed beneath a black mask. His eyes fastened on Juliette.

“Who is he, Juliette? Is he the pirate that held you captive?”

“Yes!” whispered Juliette, unable to draw her eyes away. She’d thought never to see Captain Bill again. Seeing him now sent shivers of fear and excitement up her spine, as memories invaded her mind.

Rules to Survive By
Chapter
One

By Dulcie Taylor

“You know her?”

“You know him?” They spoke simultaneously; their expressions almost mirror images in shock.

“Cherish, this is Devin Deller. Devin, this is Cherish Duncan – she currently owns the place.” Cherish curled her lip at the good-looking stranger and grabbed her hockey stick back. What the hell did he mean, currently?

“Oh!”  The Australian smiled widely and it brought out more sun-coaxed lines around his mouth.  He looked rugged and sexy and she didn’t like it one bit! He walked toward her with his easy-going gait and gorgeous eyes and she decided he might actually put John to shame in the looks department.  She did a mental head-slap and shook her thoughts away.

“Nice ta meet ya,” he said, holding out his hand.  She stared at it.

Puff Goes Golden
Chapter
One

By Shannon Stevens

Grant held up his hand. “Enough.”

That particular intonation never failed to make her tingle, but not in the right places. She skidded to a stop inches away from his lap and then prudently backed up. She didn’t want to be that close to him when he was sitting down with one knee elevated. His better judgment might be overruled by proximity and she really didn’t want his leg to hurt any worse.

Yeah, right! Mentally, she rolled her eyes. It sounded better if she pretended she was thinking of him and his comfort. She bit her lip and backed up further.

“It doesn’t look all that good, Honey,” she ventured nervously.

“No, it doesn’t.” He was struggling to remain calm – she could tell.

Giving Tomorrow
Chapter Four

(Sequel to "A Giving Heart")

By Laura Smith

Wyatt swore under his breath, feeling he was to blame.

“You’d spank me if I said something like that,” she said with a tired kind of humor.

He turned away from her. “I ain’t doin’ right by you.”

She snorted. “Don’t make me kick your ass.”

He turned back, surprised at the anger he heard.

Losing the Battle, Winning the War

By April Hill

Amy turned on her heel, and bolted.

She didn’t get far, unable to run in the long skirt of her 1915 era costume. When she stumbled on a small rock, Mark caught her from behind. Then, with a quick glance back at the old warehouse where they’d been shooting, he pulled her across his hip, pushed the skirt up to her waist, and yanked her pink, historically inaccurate bikini panties down to her knees.

“What the hell are you doing?” she hissed.

“You’re a bright girl. You’ll figure it out.”

He was right. She figured it out almost immediately, but believing it took a bit longer.

“I don’t fucking believe this!” she wailed.

Giving Tomorrow
Chapter T
hree
(Sequel to "A Giving Heart")

By Laura Smith

Wyatt turned towards her, a concerned frown marring his brow.

She didn’t want to say that she let her imagination get away with her, so she huddled down into her parka, rubbing at her arms, and muttered an apology.  Then the smell hit her.  She put her sleeve to her nose as she moaned, “Oh, God!”

Wyatt scowled at her. “Do not be taking the Good Lord’s name in vain.”

Her bottom tingled as she ducked her head under his stern look.

The Gnome Nabber

By Michelle Carlyle

“Jim Peterson, your new next door neighbor. Here, take my hand.”

She grabbed it, stood up, and immediately horrid pain throbbed in her left ankle. “Yow,” she said, shifting all her weight to her right leg.

“Hurt your ankle?”

“Yeah.”

“Why do women wear such high heels?”

“To impress men. Are you impressed yet?”

A Revelation

By Maryse Dawson

“Aye, but she tries me sorely, Aldus!” he rubbed his forehead and closed his eyes. “Hath thee ever met such a demanding wench?” He looked up, searching his friends face.

“Nay, Guarin. In all truth, I hath not. That wench is in dire need of a strict husband – a taste of a leather strap wouldst soon hath her obedience!”

Guarin smiled, picturing Lord Drewetts daughter, Meriele, shrieking as he applied a strap to her bottom... and what a saucy bottom she had. She may possess the temper of a shrew but she had the face and figure of an angel. Aye, a firm hand on her backside would soon alter her behaviour!

A Magical Proposal
(Sequel to "A Magical Fourth of July")

By Sebrina Winchester

“Why in the hell would you treat your mother that way? I know that you don’t get along with her, but she really seemed to be trying. And you were just rude. I’m disappointed in you, Sarah.”

For once the look, combined with the harsh words, didn’t have the desired effect on her. She knew that she was on thin ice with him, but she wasn’t about to give in. Not this time. This was her mother. No one knew her like she did. Her mother was selfish and self-centered. If she was here, there must be something that she wanted, plain and simple.

“So you’re disappointed in me. Fine, go ahead and spank me, then. I don’t care; you aren’t going to change my mind about her.”

Wildfire

By Kate Robins

She touched his hand that was resting on the wheel and stated, “I’m dealing with so many things.”

“So what? That doesn’t scare me.  Listen, there’s not much to do in this town, but come to the fairgrounds with me tomorrow.  It’s outdoors – no claustrophobia – just lots of cotton candy and people in funny hats.  We can be kids again.”

Sophie laughed, throwing her head back freely, and in that instant, she seemed unchained from past burdens and present fears.

Giving Tomorrow
Chapter Two

(Sequel to "A Giving Heart")

By Laura Smith

He held out his palm. Without pause, she slapped her hand to his. He gave her a moment to pull away before he locked his fingers around her and then tugged her down over his lap.

She gave a yelp of surprise as he situated her over his knee. Her fingers clawed at his side until she could find leverage by grabbing hold of his belt. Her other hand grasped his ankle and he felt the heel of her palm push at his leg through his boot.

“What are you doing?” she asked, panic raising her voice.

Moonchild
Chapter
Ten
(Last Chapter)

By April Hill

“Is it my imagination,” I inquired irritably, when he’d finished, “or is this getting to be a habit?” I was still rubbing my bare rear end when I posed the question, so it seemed to me the reference was pretty clear.

But Rob was looking though the binoculars, again, this time at the whirlpool at the base of the rocks. “Is what getting to be a habit?”

“You know damned well what I’m talking about,” I grumbled. “So stop screwing around with the fucking binoculars, and answer the question.”

I didn’t get an answer to my question. What I got was flipped over on my stomach, and smacked two more times – one on each sore cheek.

To Have and To Hold
Chapter Ten

(Last Chapter)

By Tori Spencer

Jo’s heart started pounding fast and furiously, and she wondered what might constitute a panic attack. But she knew she had this coming and even knew once it was over, she’d feel a lot better. Just as Cassie had pointed out the night before.

Max took her hand and helped her up. Then, instead of sitting himself on the chair, he led her over to the bed where he sat down and patted his lap. He overwhelmed her with his sense of purpose but even so, it made her feel cherished.

Yet she dreaded the next half hour.

The Snowball Effect
Chapter Three
(Last Chapter)

By Dulcie Taylor

“This is going to be a long one, Rox.” He pulls me up to stand. My heart is beating in my chest with increasing tempo, like a tribal drum announcing the commencement of a cannibalistic ritual. I’m afraid to ask how long but it pops out anyway.

“How long?” My eyes are wide.

“As long as it takes,” he answers vaguely, unbuttoning my jeans. He shucks them down indelicately. I grab his hands before he can lower my panties. Our gazes meet as he is about to push my hands away but after years of being together, he reads me and stops.

I need to do it myself – to show him my acceptance, especially after my damaging words from earlier.

Branches of the Family Tree

By Celeste Jones

“Have I ever told you how sexy I think you look in a suit?” Ann said, attempting to loosen his tie.

“You’re looking pretty sexy yourself,” he replied, and ran a finger down the deep plunge at the front of her dress. “Not everyone can make a matron of honor gown look hot.”

Ann wiggled her firm rear end in her husband’s lap. “I guess all those exercise classes have paid off.”

Tony slid his hand down to his wife’s bottom and gave a squeeze. “Yes, this is much firmer down here,” he said. “I suppose that might make my task a bit more challenging this afternoon, but I think I’m up for it. How about you?”

Suddenly the warm glow that had been forming low in Ann’s stomach turned cold. “What do you mean?”

Giving Tomorrow
Chapter One

(Sequel to "A Giving Heart")

By Laura Smith

He shouldn’t have gotten this close to other people.  Gotten too close to humans.  Too close to temptation.  To blood.  Blood.

A growl grew in his chest, building in force and volume as his thirst pushed at him.  The heartbeats throbbed like a headache at his temple.  The footsteps of the woman on the street matched the tempo and it would be so easy to stalk her, hunt her, feed on her.  Saliva collected in his mouth and his fangs sprang from his gums in anticipation.  All he had to do was turn and drink.

Wyatt whirled around with inhuman speed, roaring and throwing the empty bottle at the tree trunk.  It shattered into crystalline dust.

The woman screamed, throwing up her arms to protect her face as the dust flew around her.

“Oh geez, I’m real sorry!” Wyatt jumped over the bench, but went no closer.  The thirst was still there.  He could control it at the moment, but there was no reason for him to tempt fate.

Moonchild
Chapter
Nine

By April Hill

I’ve never been much of a drinker, and I usually pass out or fall asleep by the time most people at the party are just getting started, but in an effort to look at home in this unfamiliar milieu, I stopped at the bar and ordered a light beer. With the chilled mug in my hand as a prop, I approached the nearest man in a potato chip hat, smiled at him as seductively as I could, and asked if he knew Leo.

If he did know Leo, he wasn’t talking. So, I approached the second potato chip guy, with the same tawdry, if unconvincing act.

“You his old lady?” the gentleman asked. I tried not to look insulted, and assured him that I was more on the order of one of Leo’s recent conquests.

To Have and To Hold
Chapter Nine

By Tori Spencer

“I come bearing gifts.” Cassidy held out a plastic box with a single lotus blossom in it. “Max thought it might look pretty in your hair. Here, let me help.” She pointed to the vanity mirror and Jo sat, only to stand back up with more haste than grace.

Cassidy’s laughter sounded like a wind chime with its light musical trill. “Pete and I took bets on whether you’d be spared until after the ball or just make it through the nap. I had bet against him spanking you until I saw the red dress. Then all bets were off.”

The Snowball Effect
Chapter Two

By Dulcie Taylor

Miles’s face is flushed and in his rush of words, I stumble back and sit in a kitchen chair. His arms take their standard spot on his hips at my lack of response. I think I hear him mumble ‘sit while you can,’ but I can’t be sure. I am too numb.

“Why would I have to hear about this from Nan? Are you okay? What the hell happened?  Why aren’t you answering me?”  His questions bombard me.

“I-I hadn’t worked up the courage to talk to you yet,” I stammer.  It is the wrong thing to say.  His face darkens.

“You need courage to talk to me?”  He shakes his head. “Why the hell do you need courage to talk to your husband?”

Alpine Au Pair

By Maryse Dawson

Two hours later and feeling a little merry, she walked back home. She had a nice alcoholic glow inside her, but she was certainly not drunk. She wasn’t making that mistake again.

Reaching the house, she walked up to the side and stood beneath her window. Her brow furrowed as she shone her torch around. Where was the bin? She’d definitely placed it there earlier. Damn it! Someone must have moved it. If she moved it now it was going to make a horrendous noise – the wheels squeaked like nothing else on earth. Blast!

She nibbled her lip and looked up to the window and froze, her eyes growing wide with shock and her stomach plummeting. The bedroom light was on and Anton was standing at the window staring down at her, a grim expression on his face. He crooked his finger at her and she blanched. Oh crap!
